Crafted in Color
This long-owned Craftsman was thoughtfully reimagined as a full-time home for a creative family transitioning from a much larger space. The goal was not to reinvent the architecture, but to refine it — honoring its millwork, warmth, and integrity while making it lighter, more functional, and deeply personal.
We preserved and layered existing antiques, editing and re-scaling each room for daily life with children. Every layout was reconsidered for flow and purpose. Storage was integrated discreetly. Nothing was added without intention.
Because the walls carried significant architectural detail, we often turned upward — introducing wallpapered ceilings to add movement and surprise without competing with the millwork. Color was used strategically to bring warmth and clarity to spaces that might otherwise feel heavy, while layered lighting balanced the natural depth Craftsman homes are known for.
The result is a home that feels collected, not decorated. Rooted in tradition, but unmistakably current. Beautiful, functional, and entirely reflective of the life lived inside it.
