As featured in the NY Times, our MAXIMALIST CRAFTSMAN is an example of our favorite kind of challenge. Our client has voiced more than 2,500 animated characters and collects antiques, art and one life-size wooden cowboy named Slim.

 

After 12 years working together across her homes in LA and Nashville, she moved back into her 1908 Pasadena Craftsman, and we knew the space had to have as much personality as she does.

Not the easiest thing to do in a Craftsman where you are keeping all the original dark woodwork. The exterior went sage green and salmon pink. Inside: patterns, colors, and wallpaper on the ceilings throughout.  We updated the original kitchen around red 1940s O'Keefe & Merritt stove with Smeg appliances and custom Fireclay Tile. We moved walls to create the primary suite the house never had, in aubergine with a teal velvet headboard.

She is not afraid of color, and clearly, neither are we.
