The photos are finally here. Crafted in Color is definitely one of the most personal homes we’ve ever designed.

Our client — a celebrated voice actor and musician — is someone we’ve collaborated with for nearly a decade, across homes in Glendale and Nashville. Over the years, our work together has evolved into something intuitive. There's a freedom and trust that makes the design process magical.

The intention was to create a home that embraced the integrity of the Craftsman architecture while reflecting her storytelling spirit — her old-soul sensibility, her love of Americana, her deep appreciation for pieces with history.

This Craftsman had long been hers, but she hadn’t lived in it. The move from a much larger home into this one marked a shift — a desire for something more intentional, more grounded, more reflective of where she is now with her two children.

We had ideas on how to remodel, carefully, creating a primary bedroom en suite bathroom, updating the kids’ bathroom, and refinishing the wood floors.  We kept all original millwork in the living and dining, and began layering and color scheming to create a master palette. Antiques she’d collected over the years were carefully considered - some we used, others we didn’t have space for.  The pieces that could be upholstered, we did. Colors and patterns we chose felt expressive - not theatrical. Wallpaper on ceilings where the walls were already speaking loudly. Lighting scaled carefully so the house felt warm, not dim.

Craftsman homes can feel dark and heavy if you’re not thoughtful. So we were deliberate — about proportion, about sight lines, about where to add visual interest. The goal was to create a sense of vibrancy, playfulness, and intentionality.

Every space was considered for way the family lives. Ultimately, the result is something we are so proud of - it feels like her —creative, nostalgic, layered, and unapologetically fun.
